As a parent, you are the primary teacher of the faith for your child.  As you know, the sacraments are celebrated and lived in the parish.  Because of this, the preparation for the sacraments takes place in the parish - not the schools.  The Catholic schools support what takes place in the home and parish and are a place for children to learn about Jesus and develop a relationship with him.

What are the requirements for FIRST RECONCILIATION classes?

  • Age:  This Sacrament is celebrated when children are a minimum of 7 years of age, and at least in Grade 2.
  • Parental Participation is key.
  • A Baptism Certificate must be provided if your child was not  baptized at St. Michael Parish.
  • Regular Attendance at Sunday Mass. The celebration of the Eucharist is the source and summit of our lives as Catholic Christians.  At Mass, we experience Christ in ways that we cannot experience him anywhere else:  in the Scripture readings, in the assembly's  praying and singing, in the person of the priest, in the celebration of the Sacraments, and especially in the Eucharist.
